Application Engineer -- Electrical specialist

Duties & Responsibilities

• The engineer researches, designs, implements and verify board-level electronic circuits and systems as defined by internal and external customers.
• The engineer will work closely with Teradyne marketing, system engineering, NPI, Operation team through product life. The work includes evaluating design tradeoffs, identifying risk and designing for manufacturability and testability, contributing to the development of best practices in design, methods, documentation, verification and validation.
• Specific skill sets include, but are not limited to: analog hardware design, digital hardware design, power supply design, signal conditioning design, system design, A/D design, DAC design, low current considerations, transmission lines, part and component evaluation and selection, theory of operation, technical specifications, and error budgets.
• The engineer may also be asked to support and/or drive Teradyne GSO Quick Turn programs when the business case requires. 

• 3-5+  experience in electrical engineering/science field.
• HW design proficiency with an excellent understanding of analog or high speed digital theory.
• Experience applying theory in solving analog and digital circuits problems, principles of electrical circuits and electrical testing procedures.
• A working knowledge & understanding of error budgets, component evaluation & selection and experience in design simulations. 
• Comprehensive knowledge on the PCB layout, debugging tools and software, oscilloscope, VNA, etc.
• Ability to communicate technical matters in international environment.
• Ability to work with remote cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing and support.
• Experience of IC design or ATE is a plus.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic on working in fast-paced environment.
