Thermal Engineer

Job Description
In this position, you will be responsible for owning the thermal design and optimization for HXT reference design platform for server market. You will work with hardware engineers, PCB Design engineers, power engineers throughout the full product development life-cycle to deliver best in class PCB design to high-volume manufacturing.
 
Responsibilities
•Design innovative thermal cooling solutions for server product based on HXT SoC.
•Develop and execute test plans to measure thermal performance/efficiency of servers.
•Simulate and analyze server cooling schemes.
•Engage Hardware Design team to ensure proper component design.
•Engage with component vendors on design, test and production.
•Establish the parameters for thermal design/testing, correlation of design/test results to model predictions.
 
Qualification
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
•Knowledge of fluid dynamic and heat transfer.
•Ability to create and read mechanical system schematics.
•Skill with analytical and computational tools.
•Experience with the various fan speed control algorithms (PID control, linear/non-linear control).
•Ability to do thermal validation with equipment such as data acquisition systems, airflow chambers, and environmental chambers.
