Senior Staff Application Engineer

In your new role you will:

1. To assist product line to design win ISD product which including IGBTs, gate drivers, IPM and digital controller
2. The target application are varies of motor control such as fan, pump, compressor, washer machine, and power supplies.
3. Create system approach(P2S) for customer application and evaluation board
4. Debug system application boards jointly with customers and internal engineering
5. To measure system performance from varies of perspective
6. Provide professional design documentation. Such as testing report, user manual of evaluation board and include other assigned documentation
7. Drive revenue growth at target customers by meeting or exceeding design win goals
8. Steer the customer to the Infineon solution while maintaining honesty and integrity – it is critically important that the customer trust your recommendations and advice
9. Distill customer feedback into specific recommendations for new features or products, and report this information to the appropriate product development team
10. Maintain accurate notes on all customer meetings, action items, competition and trends, and report these as required in the monthly activity report
11. Maintain your product knowledge at the most current level by communicating frequently with the product groups, attending all of the new product training prior to launch, and understand product roadmaps and future plans.
12. Learn our competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, and use this information to help make the case for an Infineon solution.
13. Work closely with FAEs, Marketing, sales and product groups to define and execute strategies for winning designs at targeted customers
14. Provide recommendations to the Marketing and MarCom groups to help them improve their materials, website information, and datasheets based on feedback from the customer.
15. Assist at various industry trade-shows – meeting with attendees, answering technical questions, and collecting leads for new business.
16. Present occasional training seminars for FAEs, sales, distributors and customers. Obtain and organize training information from the product groups into appropriate form.
17. Continuous the study on personal skills provided by Infineon or other resources.
18. Be able to diplomatically handle a difficult customer while always maintaining a professional demeanor.
19. Manage tasks within team.
20. Guide other team member to priority the projects.

1. Masters or Ph.D in Power Electronics
2. 10+ years of Experience in power electronics industry with at least 3 years in a leadership role
3. Basis System understanding of targeted applications and ability to communicate with System architects (on the customer side)
4. Understanding of loss calculations of IGBTs, their efficiencies, SOA, RBSOA, turn on/ turn off behavior, Miller behavior, gate switching characteristics.
5. Experiences on designing gate drivers circuit, driver power, relative protection circuits, electric simulation, and driver’s characteristics.
6. Experienced IPM design win and knowing 3 phase inverter working sequence, SVPWM, shoot through, dead time, mini pulse width, leg shunt and single shunt current sampling.
7. Good understanding of different topologies like rectifier, buck, boost, inverter, fly back, forward, full bridge, converter, PFC topology etc.
8. Designed evaluation board for customer application such as fan control, compressor control etc. knowing the specific requirements and difference of each application.
9. Knowledge of IPOSIM or any simulation tools like P-spice, Saber, Matlab, Mathcad is necessary
10. Lead and build up a high performance team
11. Be trained for leadership, project management essential, presentation skill and sales skill.
12. Have the ability to make technical note or related technical documentation
13. Have the ability to contribute to application roadmap.
