Senior Applications Engineer

The Xilinx University Program (XUP) is searching for a senior applications engineer with the following responsibilities:

• Promote use of Xilinx All Programmable technologies in Academia in China
• Lead technical projects and supervise open source initiatives as required
• Create teaching materials, labs, demos and application notes
• Deliver technical training workshops
• Support conferences, trade shows and customer-facing events
• Support XUP customer queries and technical issues in China and around the world
• Maintain effective relationships with Xilinx University Program teams in rest of world
• Contribute to the specification, evaluation and development of FPGA development systems for use in academia
• Identify and propagate examples of best practice in teaching and research in the course of academic interactions

• MS (preferred) with 3-5 years experience, or BS in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline with 5-7 years experience
• Experienced FPGA user preferably with Xilinx FPGAs and design tools
• Experience of embedded systems (preferred), DSP or Heterogeneous computing is a plus
• Experience with open source community very desired
• Familiarity with cloud services and development is a plus
• Proven oral, and written communication skills in Chinese and English
• Willingness to travel as required by the needs of the position
• Proven ability to write and present papers and proposals
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working with cross-functional and remote teams
• Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision and running with new initiatives
