The Solution Architect (SA) in this position is responsible for providing technical support on AMD EPYC Platforms. This candidate will be accountable for all aspects of technical engagements required to support sales and account objectives in the region. The SA will be required to support a broad range of end customers, technology partners and MNC accounts.
This position requires the SA to have a broad technical understanding of AMD’s server platforms, software environments and application performance. The position may require specialized knowledge of end user software environments including Operating systems (Windows and Linux based), compilers, benchmarks, and targeted applications, such as Cloud and Datacenter, Telecommunication, Virtualization, and other relevant software applications.
Education and Experience Requirements:
The preferred candidate should have a combination of relevant academic and professional experience. The minimum qualifications associated with this position are BS with 5-7 years of experience, MS with 3-5 years or PhD with 1 year of experience. Degree should be technology related bachelor's degree or other technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science) or equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Server CPUs and technology, Server system optimization, Linux kernel backward patches and optimization based on AMD microarchitecture, Application performance optimization/tuning and benchmarking, Virtualization technology and hypervisors, Database applications, power management and competitive architecture.
The general overview of the SA job duty is to support the account sales by working with customers to optimize performance for targeted applications running on AMD based platform solutions. This may include the following activities:
a) On-site meetings with customers
b) Profiling and analysis of target customer applications (proprietary or open source)
c) Benchmark analysis and optimizations for targeted customer applications
d) Provide technical guidance or recommendations for platform performance improvement (HW and SW)
e) Provide technical training for customers or AMD sales team
f) Evaluation and research on competitive platforms, applications or technologies
g) Presentation of AMD roadmaps or technology (Internal and External)
h) Support for conferences or regional events (Presentation, HW demos, Customer meetings)
i) Other duties required to support the sales team and customer base
This position requires an individual with excellent organizational and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation skills) with a good balance of hardware, architecture and software expertise. The successful candidate must demonstrate both the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. They must also demonstrate good time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong internal (Sales, Marketing, Engineering) and external (customer) relationships are required and the candidate must demonstrate a history of success in developing and maintaining technical relationships. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and the ability to manage complex problems involving multi-disciplined, cross-functional teams.
Note: In this position regional travel is required.
