SCBU Systems Debug Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Analysis and resolution of AMD silicon and system issues based on AMD reference or customer platform designs. Debug performed with AMD internally developed software and hardware tools/boards and oscilloscopes/logic analyzer. Work with internal teams to escalate critical issue resolution in order to reach company milestones.
 
Specific Job Function:
·       Triage silicon and system level issues with software, firmware, platform design and silicon design teams.
·       Provide analysis and drive silicon and platform level issues to closure.
·       Design experimental tests for complicated issue analyzing/isolation and cross-function/region collaboration driven.
·       The successful candidate must be a highly motivated, innovative individual with a keen interest in finding and resolving silicon and system-level failures.
 
SKILLS REQUIRED
·       Bachelor/Master in an Engineering or Science area.10yrs+ experience in x86 industry for platform engineering, new silicon bring-up and customer deployment. An advanced degree as well as leadership experience will be considered a plus.
·       Familiar with computer from both hardware (CPU, chipset, I/O devices, etc) and software (BIOS, Drivers, Operating System) perspective.
·       Coding experience is preferred (C, Assembly, etc.) ans basic understanding of UNIX/Linux system and lab devices (scope, multi-meter, etc.).
·       Proficient English and Mandarin (listening, writing and speaking).
Self-motivated and able to work independently and efficiently to meet tight schedule.
