Design Support Engineer (DSE)

Job Description:

Design Support Engineer (DSE) is primary technical support focal for customer’s process/PDK (Process Design Kit) evaluation, design-in and prototype tape-out stages. She or he takes the ownership of the stage between design win to tape in. The main job task is to solve all technical issues throughout customer’s prototype design stage either by himself/herself or via support from internal teams, to ensure a successful prototype tape-out and 1^st time right silicon results.

Successful candidates should have broad hands-on experience with semiconductor custom circuit design methodology, flows and major EDA tools from Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Synopsys and Agilent. Knowledge of semiconductor process, ground rules, model, ESD and PDK application is highly desirable. Basic communication, problem-solving and presentation skills are essential for this DSE role, as you need to interact with customers in daily basis. Fluent English in writing and reading is required. The job also involves periodic training in TowerJazz’s world wide facilities, and limited traveling as per business required.

Job Requirements:

1. Master or Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineer, Microelectronics or Computer Engineering related majors.

2. Above 2 years of industry working experience in semiconductor related fields like circuit design, semiconductor process/PDK development or common EDA tools development/application etc.

3. Knowledge and experience in one or more below semiconductor fields:

- Analog/RF custom circuit, and/or digital/Mixed-signal circuit design and methodology;

- Mainstream circuit design flow and EDA tools for simulation, DRC/LVS, PEX and post-layout simulation;

- Semiconductor processes like CMOS/RF CMOS, BCD, SiGe BiCMOS, RF SOI, and so on;

- Linux/CAD tool development or application;

- Electrostatic Discharges (ESD) protection design.

4. First level support for design enablement on site support.

a.       PDK installations and maintenance

b.       PDK first level problems support

c.       Primary contact for other related DE topics as IP, Design service etc.

5. Fluent English (writing/reading), good overall soft-skill and willingness to work with customers.
