Job Description
As a Systems Engineer for Micron's Managed Memory Design Group, you will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and evaluating new Mobile host chipsets and customer hardware platforms. Analysis will cover the areas of performance, power, behavior, controller, media, and firmware for both Micron and competitor devices. In this position you will work with and support the efforts of groups such as Systems Architecture, Product Design, Firmware Development, Product Validation, and Systems compatibility. Projects are typically focused on products and markets in which Micron directly competes.
Responsibilities
• Initial bring up of new host chipsets and customer platforms
• System level characterization and analysis of performance, power and behavior
• System level debug
• Customer support during product qualification and design in
• Attend customer face to face meetings and periodic technical reviews
• Development of software and other tools needed for system level characterization and analysis for validation purpose
• Advance analysis of upcoming features including both controller and system level for early enablement and design/architecture impact assessment
• System level competitive analysis and reverse engineering
• Develop and maintain a broad knowledge base of competitor data
• Publish results of analysis projects and alert interested parties of critical information
Requirements
• Good knowhow of Android or Linux kernel source code level with develop/debug experience
• 2 years + System level debug experience with driver experience, and/or strong MPHY experience
• Familiarity with Mobile operating systems such as Android
• Familiarity with Mobile application ADB, APK and benchmarks tools
• Familiarity with embedded systems board development
• Familiarity with OS architectures
• Programming experience using C or C++ on real projects. Python experience will be a plus
• Experience using protocol analyzers, high speed oscilloscopes and logic analyzers will be a plus
• Managed memory, or solid state storage development experience
• A high level of attention to detail

Education
• BS+ in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
