Firmware Development Director

Marvell is rapidly growing its SSD storage business with innovative new controllers, software development kits and full turnkey firmware offerings. As part of this growth we are looking for a new Director of FW development to manage and grow our FW development team in Chengdu.

As the Director of FW Development you will be responsible for managing a team responsible for design, implementation, verification and customer support, working as part of the larger worldwide FW team. Your team will have responsibilities in the areas of PCIe/NVMe/SATA, NAND, Caching, Performance, FTL, Infrastructure, and Manufacturing.

As a director of this team, you will interact with different teams such as SoC design, SoC validation, SQA, Field Application Engineers and customers. We work in and continue to refine an Agile development process focused on test driven development and continuous integration.

Required Experience
BSc or MSc in electrical engineering, computer engineering or similar
Strong software/firmware engineering background
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience with a progression of leadership
Minimum 5 years of management experience leading a team
Experience with firmware development within an SoC development organization
Knowledge of C, Python and embedded firmware tools and techniques
Track record of delivering products to market
Willingness to travel
Good communication skills in English

Preferred Experience:
Experience of SSD development
Affinity with Agile development
Knowledge of processor architectures, specifically ARM
Knowledge of NAND technology
Experience with design for and support for mass production
